Notice on the Adjustment of Requirements for Chinese Visa Application During COVID-19 Pandemic

As from today, Office of the People’s Republic of China to the State of Palestine makes adjustments on visa application requirements for foreigners who have completed whole courses of Covid-19 vaccination as follows. Please note that it is required to apply for HS/HDC Code within 48 hours before departing for China.

1. The visa section of Office of the People’s Republic of China to the State of Palestine accepts Z/M/F visa applications of foreigners intending to work in China or go to China for commercial, trade, science, technology, sports, cultural activities with required documents. 2. The visa section of Office of the People’s Republic of China to the State of Palestine accepts X1 visa applications of foreign students intending to go to China for long-term academic education. Foreign students admitted in 2022 should provide Visa Application for Study in China (Form JW201 or JW202) and the original Admission Letter. Foreign students admitted before 2022 should provide Visa Application for Study in China (Form JW201 or JW202), photocopy of the Admission Letter and approval of returning issued by the school.

3. The visa section of Office of the People’s Republic of China to the State of Palestine accepts S1/S2 visa applications of family members (including spouses, parents, children under the age of 18, parents-in-law, adult children, spouses of adult children, and unmarried partners) of holders of valid Z/M/F/X1 visa or valid work/study category residence permit with required documents (http://ps.china-office.gov.cn/eng/lsyw/visa/201903/t20190328_6183605.htm). Adult children, spouses of adult children and unmarried partners applying for S visa shall submit explanation documents accordingly as required by consular officials in addition to the documents mentioned above.

4. The visa section of Office of the People’s Republic of China to the State of Palestine accepts Q1/Q2 visa applications of foreign family member (including spouses, parents, parent-in-law, children and their spouses, siblings, grandparents and grandchildren) of a Chinese citizen or a foreigner with Permanent Residence Card in China for family reunion or family visit with required documents (http://ps.china-office.gov.cn/eng/lsyw/visa/201903/t20190328_6183605.htm).

5. The visa section of Office of the People’s Republic of China to the State of Palestine DOES NOT accept applications of foreigners intending to go to China for tourism, medical treatment, non-academic short-term study, or other private purposes.

6. To apply for the emergency humanitarian visa for the purpose of arranging funeral matters or visiting a family member in critical medical conditions in China, applicants shall submit the identity document of the deceased or critically ill patient (such as a Chinese identity card or a foreign passport), a death certificate or a medical certificate of the patient issued by the hospital, proof of kinship, and other necessary documents as required. 

7. Visa applicants are required to log on http://cova.cs.mfa.gov.cn and fill in the visa application form online in Chinese or English. After completing the form online, you may enter the visa appointment interface by clicking the button of "Start to book appointment", or afterwards log on http://avas.cs.mfa.gov.cn, enter your contact information and Application ID to make an appointment for visa application.

Applicants are required to submit passports and other required documents to the visa section of the Office with the printed signed complete application form and signed Confirmation of Online Visa Application as per scheduled appointment. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the visa section currently opens from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday and Thursday only. Please arrange your appointment accordingly.

8. Basic documents required for all visas are:

(1) Passport

Original passport with at least six months of remaining validity and blank visa pages, and a photocopy of the passport's data page and the photo page if it is separate.

(2) Visa Application Form and Photo

One completed Visa Application Form with a recently-taken color passport photo (bare-head, full face) against a light background attached.

(3) Proof of legal stay or residence status (applicable to those not applying for the visa in their country of citizenship)

If you are not applying for the visa in the country of your citizenship, you must provide the original and photocopy of your valid certificates or visa of stay, residence, employment or student status, or other valid certificates of legal staying provided by the relevant authorities of the country where you are currently staying.

(4) Photocopy of previous Chinese passports or previous Chinese visas (applicable to foreign citizensthose who were Chinese citizens and have obtained foreign citizenship).

If you are applying for a Chinese visa for the first time, you should provide your previous Chinese passport held and a photocopy of its data page. If you have obtained Chinese visas before and want to apply for a Chinese visa with a renewed foreign passport that does not contain any Chinese visa, you should present the photocopy of the previous passport's data page and the photo page if it is separate, as well as the previous Chinese visa page. (If your name on the current passport differs from that on the previous one, you must provide an official document of name change.)

(5) Full-process Covid -19 vaccination certificates approved by PRC or WHO.
