On June 27, 2022, Guo Wei, Head of Office of the People’s Republic of China to the State of Palestine, attended the dialogue on China-Palestine Relations jointly organized by the Palestinian-Chinese Friendship Society, the Palestinian Businessmen Association and the Palestinian Ramallah and Al-Bireh Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with the participation of Adnan Samara, Chairman of the Palestinian-Chinese Friendship Society, Mohammed,Al-Amour, Chairman of the Palestinian Businessmen Association, Abdul Al-Atari, Chairman of the Palestinian Ramallah and Al-Bireh Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Fariz Mehdawi, Palestinian Ambassador to China.

Guo Wei introduced that Chinese President Xi Jinping chaired the 14th BRICS Summit, the High-level Dialogue on Global Development and attended the opening ceremony of the BRICS Business Forum,  explained the major ideas and propositions put forward by President Xi Jinping, clarified that the Global Security Initiative aims to safeguard fairness and justice and maintain world peace, the Global development Initiative aims to solve development problems and achieve common prosperity, strengthen global governance, adhere to economic globalization, promote win-win cooperation, and deepen BRICS cooperation to create “ten highlights” and establish broader partnership.

Guo Wei introduced China’s economic situation and the general policy of “Dynamic Zero-COVID”, stressing that China will continue to improve its opening-up level, build a higher level of open economy, and create a market-oriented, legal and international business environment. He positively affirmed that the business community is a new force for promoting practical cooperation between China and Palestine, and encouraged the Palestinian business community to strengthen economic and trade cooperation with China to share the development opportunities.  

The Palestinian guests spoke highly of the major ideas and propositions put forward by Chinese President Xi Jinping, supported the Global Development Initiative and the Global Security Initiative, appreciated that China’s proposition is in line with the common aspirations of developing countries to seek peace, pursue development and promote cooperation, and said that they are willing to tide over difficulties together and pursue cooperation to contribute to the promotion of Palestine-China friendship.
