On July 20, 2022, Guo Wei, Head of the Office of the People’s Republic of China to the State of Palestine published a signed article “Continue the Traditional Friendship to Jointly Create a Better Future” at the special issue “People’s Struggle” of the Palestinian Popular Struggle Front(PPSF), explaining that China and Palestine have always respected and trusted each other, worked in solidarity and mutual assistance, learned from each other, and worked together to build a model of mutual help to weather the storms between the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the political parties in Arab countries. As the Palestinian Popular Struggle Front celebrates its 55th anniversary, I would like to extend warm congratulations and best wishes to General Secretary Ahmed Majdalani and all comrades of the PPSF. 2022 is also of great significance to the CPC. The CPC will convene its 20th National Congress in Beijing in the second half of 2022. Both parties shoulder the historical mission of striving for a new era and embarking on a new journey, and the traditional friendship between the two sides has reached a new historical starting point.
The two parties have always adhered to mutual respect and trust in their exchanges. On the centenary of the founding of the CPC, General Secretary Majdalani and the PPSF extended warm congratulation and spoke highly of the glorious course and great achievements of the CPC. In June 2021, the PPSF successfully held its 12th National Congress. The International Liaison Department, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China(CCCPC) sent a congratulatory message to the PPSFront central committee, appreciating the positive contributions made by the PPSF to promoting the development of China-Palestine relations, and saying it attaches great importance to the development of friendly relations with the PPSF.
The two parties have always upheld unity and mutual assistance in their exchanges. General Secretary Majdalani and the PPSF expressed their support for Beijing Olympic Winter Games, supported the forging of a China-Arab community with a shared future, and firmly stood on the side of objectivity and justice and the right side of history on issues related to Xinjiang, Hong Kong and origin-tracing of COVID-19. China stands firmly with Palestine on the journey of the Palestinian people in pursuit of independent statehood. Chinese President Xi Jinping made a four-point proposal for the settlement of the Palestinian question, and has sent congratulatory messages to the commemorative assembly of the “International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People” for nine consecutive years. China supports the early convening of a more authoritative and representative international peace conference on the basis of the “Two-state solution” to promote a comprehensive and just settlement of the Palestinian issue. China’s support for the just cause of the Palestinian people will never stop until the Palestinian question is resolved.
The two parties have always upheld mutual learning in their exchanges. They jointly carry forward the common values of all mankind of peace, development, fairness, justice, democracy and freedom, respect national sovereignty, independence and national dignity, enrich the choice of development paths with independent and diverse development modes, and promote the harmonious coexistence of different civilizations; jointly oppose the “double standards”, imposing ideology on others, and oppose interference in the internal affairs of other countries, and wanton attack and discredit of other countries; jointly safeguard the international system with the United Nations as the core and the international order based on international law, uphold multilateralism, and defend international equity and justice.
The CPC attaches importance to the traditional friendship and good cooperation with the PPSF, and is willing to work with the PPSF to consolidate and deepen inter-party cooperation, enhance the exchange of experience in governance, and build a model of mutual help between the CPC and the political parties in Arab countries. It is believed that with the joint efforts of both parties, the relationship between the two parties and the two states will usher in a better future to make greater contributions to the just settlement of the Palestinian question, the promotion of regional peace and development, and the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.
