On August 9, 2022, Guo Wei, Head of Office of the People's Republic of China to the State of Palestine, met with Mahmoud Abu Al-hijaMahmud, Chief Editor of the Palestinian Official Newspaper Al-Hayat Al-Jadida. 

Guo Wei said that the Sspeaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi visited China's Taiwan region in disregard of China's stern warning, which has aroused strong indignation among the Chinese people.  China has responded firmly and forcefully to this. China appreciates that Palestine upholds the one-China principle and supports China in safeguarding its sovereignty and territorial integrity. Under the new situation, China is willing to continue to expand friendly relations with Palestine in all fields, including press cooperation. 

MahmoudMahmud stressed that he supports China in safeguarding its sovereignty and territorial integrity, opposes any provocationve acts that infringes on China's sovereignty and split China's territory, and is willing to make contributions to enhancing the friendship between the two peoples.
