On August 29, 2022, Guo Wei, Head of Office of the People's Republic of China to the State of Palestine, met with Abdullah Zubaidi, Mayor of Salfit, Palestine. 

Guo Wei said that China cherishes the traditional friendship between China and Palestine, actively promotes exchanges at all levels and cooperation in all fields of the two countries, and is willing to strengthen local and personnel exchanges with Palestine, so as to enrich and build an even more vibrant friendship and cooperation between the two countries and benefit the two peoples.

Zubaidi spoke highly of China's great achievements in development, appreciated China's consistent and just  stance on the Palestinian issue, and said that Salfit is willing to expand sub-national exchanges and cooperation with China and learn development experience from it.
