On November 14, 2022, Guo Wei, Head of Office of the People’s Republic of China to the State of Palestine, met with Lucia Elmi, UNICEF Special Representative in the State of Palestine online. 

Guo Wei introduced the important achievements and significance of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, and stressed that China has always been committed to its foreign policy goals of upholding world peace and promoting common development, is dedicated to promoting a human community with a shared future, firmly upholding the international system with the United Nations at its core, and actively supporting and participating in the work of the United Nations. China appreciates and supports the UN agencies’ concern about the development problems of developing countries, and is willing to strengthen cooperation with them to jointly promote the implementation of the Global Development Initiative, and help Palestine and other developing countries to improve their people’s well-being. 

Lucia appreciated China’s support for the work of UN agencies and its important contribution to safeguarding world peace and promoting common development, and expressed her willingness to deepen cooperation with China to help Palestine improve its people’s livelihood.
