On December 1, 2022, Guo Wei, Head of Office of the People’s Republic of China to the State of Palestine, met with Karim Amer, Director of Partnerships of UNRWA online. 

Guo Wei introduced the major achievements and significance of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), and stressed that China firmly upholds the international system with the United Nations at its core and the international order based on international law. China supports the work of the UNRWA and has been providing assistance to Palestine refugees through the UNRWA to the best of its ability. President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory message to the commemorative meeting in observance of the “International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People” for the 10th consecutive year. China will continue to support for the Palestinian people in efforts to restore their legitimate national rights under the leadership of the United Nations, promote a comprehensive and just settlement of the Palestinian issue, and achieve lasting peace, universal security and common prosperity in the Middle East. 

Karim appreciated China’s long-term support for the work of United Nations agencies, especially the UNRWA, and expressed his willingness to continue to strengthen good cooperation between the two sides and work together to improve the livelihood of Palestine refugees.
