On December 13, 2022, Guo Wei, Head of Office of the People’s Republic of China to the State of Palestine, met with Majdi Al-Khaldi, the Senior Diplomatic Advisor to the Palestinian President.

Guo Wei said that Chinese President Xi Jinping delivered an important speech at the first China-Arab States Summit, and he proposed that China will work with the Arab side to advance “eight major cooperation initiatives”, made top-level design for China-Arab strategic partnership in the new era, and reiterated that China firmly supports an independent Palestinian state and supports Palestine in becoming a full member of the United Nations, and will continue to provide humanitarian assistance to Palestine and support its people’s livelihood. During the meeting with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, Chinese President Xi Jinping pointed out that China unswervingly supports the just cause of the Palestinian people to restore their legitimate national rights, always stands with the Palestinian people, and will continue to make unremitting efforts to promote an early, just and lasting settlement of the Palestinian issue. Guo Wei stressed that China is willing to work with Palestine to promote new development of the friendly relations between China and Palestine by taking the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Palestine next year as an opportunity. 

Majdi said that the China-Arab States Summit reflects the strong desire of China and Arab states to further deepen solidarity and cooperation and work together for common development. President Xi Jinping’s important proposals have received positive and warm responses from leaders of all parties present. Palestine is willing to strengthen cooperation with China to promote the settlement of the Palestinian issue, safeguard international fairness and justice, and contribute to building a China-Arab community with a shared a future in the new era.
