Guo Wei, Head of Office of the People’s Republic of China to the State of Palestine, Talks with the Palestinian Think Tank on the First China-Arab States Summit

On December 13, 2022, Guo Wei, Head of Office of the People’s Republic of China to the State of Palestine, talked with the Palestinian Center for Policy Research and Strategic Studies (MASARAT) about the important achievements and far-reaching impact of the first China Arab States Summit. 

Guo Wei said that the friendly exchanges between China and the Arab states have a long history, solidarity and mutual assistance is a distinct feature of China-Arab friendship, equality and mutual benefit is a constant driver for China-Arab friendship, and inclusiveness and mutual learning is a key value inherent in China-Arab friendship. Chinese President Xi Jinping proposed to foster a closer China-Arab community with a shared future, and China will work with the Arab side to advance the “eight major cooperation initiatives”. Chinese President Xi Jinping’s important proposals have received positive responses from leaders of all parties present. China and Arab states jointly issued the Riyadh Declaration, and agreed to build a China-Arab community with a shared future in the new era to contribute to the building of a community with a shared future for mankind. President Xi Jinping reiterated that China firmly supports the just cause of the Palestinian people, supports an independent Palestinian state, supports Palestine in becoming a full member of the United Nations, and China will continue to give Palestine comprehensive support. It is believed that the China-Arab States Summit will certainly have a profound impact on the regional situation and the international pattern, writing a new chapter in China-Arab relations in the new era. 

Director General Masri congratulated the successful convening of the first China-Arab States Summit, spoke highly of the important achievements of the summit, and praised that this is a major event in the history of China-Arab relations. He said that it is necessary to comprehensively and systematically study the far-reaching impact of the summit and help China-Arab relations achieve new and greater development.
