On December 15, 2022, Guo Wei, Head of Office of the People’s Republic of China to the State of Palestine, talked about the important achievements and far-reaching impact of the first China-Arab States Summit with Abbas Zaki, member of Fatah’s Central Committee and the Minister of Arab Relations Affairs and China.  

Guo Wei said that Chinese President Xi Jinping delivered an important speech at the first China-Arab States Summit, and pointed out that solidarity and mutual assistance is a distinct feature of China-Arab friendship, equality and mutual benefit is a constant driver for China-Arab friendship, and inclusiveness and mutual learning is a key value inherent in China-Arab friendship. Chinese President Xi Jinping proposed to foster a closer China-Arab community with a shared future, and announced the “eight major cooperation initiatives” of China-Arab practical cooperation, which received positive responses from leaders of all parties present. China and Arab states jointly issued the Riyadh Declaration, and agreed to build a China-Arab community with a shared future in the new era to contribute to the building of a community with a shared future for mankind. President Xi Jinping reiterated that China firmly supports the just cause of the Palestinian people, supports an independent Palestinian state, and supports Palestine in becoming a full member of the United Nations. 2023 marks the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Palestine, and China is willing to work with Palestine to push the friendly relations between China and Palestine to a new level. 

Zaki congratulated the successful convening of the first China-Arab States Summit, spoke highly of the historic meeting between the two heads of state, supported the promotion of Arab-China strategic partnership, and said that Palestine is willing to take the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Palestine and China as an opportunity to promote the deepening and practical cooperation between the two countries in various fields.
