On January 23, 2024, Zeng Jixin, Head of Office of the People’s Republic of China to the State of Palestine, and Issa Kassis, Mayor of Ramallah, signed the Implementation Agreement on China-aided Road Extension Project in Ramallah, Palestine.

Zeng Jixin said that in June last year, President Xi Jinping and President Mahmoud Abbas announced the establishment of a strategic partnership between China and Palestine and reached an important consensus on deepening cooperation between the two sides. The signing of this Implementation Agreement is a practical measure to implement the important consensus of the two heads of state, and is also a concrete result of the Belt and Road cooperation between China and Palestine, highlighting the high level of China-Palestine strategic partnership. China is ready to join hands with Palestine to build a community with a shared future for mankind and implement the three global initiatives. China will continue to provide assistance to Palestine to the best of its ability, and help Palestine alleviate difficulties and improve people’s livelihoods, so as to interpret the profound friendship between the two countries through concrete actions.

Issa Kassis expressed his appreciation for China’s precious support and selfless assistance, saying that Palestine will maintain close communication and coordination with China to implement the important consensus of the heads of state and make every effort to promote the implementation of the project, so as to create a new symbol of friendship between the two countries.
