Head of Office Sun Zhen Met with Mustafa Barghouti, Secretary General of the Palestinian National Initiative

On October 15, 2026, H.E. Mr. Sun Zhen, Head of Office of the People’s Republic of China to the State of Palestine, met with Dr. Mustafa Barghouti, Secretary General of the Palestinian National Initiative (PNI).

Sun noted that, since the beginning of this year, President Xi Jinping has put forward his four-point principle for resolving the Palestinian question, along with a four-point proposal on new security architecture for Middle East, and has repeatedly stressed that the Palestinian question should not be marginalized. Guided by these principles, China will continue to firmly support the just cause of the Palestinian people, provide assistance to Palestine, and work alongside all peace-loving countries to firmly support the two-State solution and jointly promote the comprehensive, just, and lasting settlement of the Palestinian question at an early date.

Barghouti welcomed Sun on his assumption of office and shared his views on the latest political developments and field situation. He also thanked China’s longstanding commitment to upholding justice on the Palestinian question, looking forward to further exchanges and cooperation with China.
