On 26 January 2026, H.E. Zeng Jixin, head of Office of the People’s Republic of China to the State of Palestine, hosted a farewell reception to bid farewell to friends from various sectors in Palestine. Approximately 150 attendees were present, including Azzam al-Ahmad, Secretary-General of the PLO Executive Committee; Majdi Khaldi, Advisor to President Mahmoud Abbas for Diplomatic Affairs; leaders of Fatah and other 8 Palestinian political factions in the West Bank, several Palestinian government ministers; heads of security forces; distinguished individuals, diplomatic corps to Palestine, as well as the Chinese community in Palestine.

Zeng expressed in his speech that, during his nearly three years of work in Palestine, what made him most proud is witnessing the continuous deepening and solidification of the China-Palestine Strategic Partnership under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and President Mahmoud Abbas; what he cherished most is the historic moment in 2024 when 14 Palestinian political factions, upholding the supreme national interests, gathered in Beijing and signed the Beijing Declaration, marking a significant stride towards national reconciliation; what left the deepest impression on him is the people and the land of Palestine.

Zeng remarked that “Each strives on our own paths, though thousands of miles apart, wind will take us to the same destination.” Wherever he may be in the future, Palestine will forever hold a place in his heart, and he will always await the glad news of the united Palestinian people finally achieving national liberation.
