On June 11, Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh met with Chinese Anti-epidemic Medical Expert Team in Prime Minister's Palace. Palestinian Health Minister Mai al-Kaila and Guo Wei, head of the Office of the People's Republic of China to the State of Palestine, attended the meeting.
On behalf of the Palestinian leaders, government and people, Shtayyeh welcomed the expert team to carry out exchanges and cooperation to fight against Covid-19 in Palestine, and spoke highly of China as one of the first countries to support the just cause of the Palestinian people, as well as the first country to provide anti-epidemic supplies and send medical experts to Palestine, which shows the high-level mutual trust and cooperation between the two countries. The Chinese medical expert team traveled to Palestine all the way, conveying the firm determination of the two countries to work together and overcome the difficulties. Palestine is willing to make thoughtful arrangements for the work of the expert team in Palestine, actively learn from China's valuable experience, and looks forward to taking the visit of the expert team as an opportunity to further consolidate and deepen Palestine-China relations and jointly contribute to the international fight against Covid-19.
Guo Wei said that in the early stage of the outbreak of Covid-19 in China, the leaders and people of Palestine firmly supported China’s fight against the epidemic, and Prime Minister Shtayyeh made a special visit to the office to express condolences and support. After the emergence of the epidemic in Palestine, China adheres to the concept of building a community of common health for mankind, unreservedly shares the experience of anti-epidemic with Palestine, and provides anti-epidemic supplies to Palestine in multiple batches. The expert team's visit to Palestine coincides with the critical moment for Palestine to fight against the epidemic and prevent and control the resurgence of the epidemic. It is hoped that the successful experience and professional qualities of Chinese experts will help Palestine to improve its anti-epidemic capabilities and write a new chapter in the fight against the epidemic in the new era.
Hu Peng, the head of the expert team, thanked Palestine for its thoughtful arrangements and positively evaluated the good results achieved by Palestine in fighting the epidemic, saying that the epidemic knows no borders and the virus does not distinguish between races.
