China and Palestine are good brothers and partners who trust each other. China was among the first countries to support the Palestinian people in their struggle for national rights and to recognize the Palestine Liberation Organization and the State of Palestine. In June 2023, President Xi Jinping and President Mahmoud Abbas jointly announced the establishment of a strategic partnership between China and Palestine, opening a new chapter in the development of bilateral relations.

China has consistently attached great importance to the Palestinian question. Since entering the new era, China has adopted a more proactive stance in promoting a political settlement to the Palestinian question. President Xi Jinping has sent congratulatory messages to the UN Special Commemorative Meeting in observance of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People for 13 consecutive years, and put forward proposals and propositions on addressing the Palestinian question. Since the outbreak of the conflict in the Gaza Strip in 2023, China has provided emergency humanitarian aid to Palestine in multiple batches to help relieve the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. In July 2024, China successfully hosted the reconciliation talks of Palestinian factions in Beijing, playing a constructive role in promoting intra-Palestinian reconciliation.

Looking ahead, under the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, China stands ready to work with Palestine to carry forward the traditional friendship, deepen strategic mutual trust, expand mutually beneficial cooperation, and elevate the China–Palestine strategic partnership to new heights. As a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council and a responsible major power, China will continue to maintain close communication with all relevant parties and make unremitting efforts to achieve a comprehensive, just, and lasting settlement to the Palestinian question at the earliest opportunity, and to achieve long-term stability and peace in the Middle East.
