On July 30, 2026, H.E. Mr. Sun Zhen, Head of Office of the People’s Republic of China to the State of Palestine, paid a courtesy call to H.E. Mr. Azzam Al-Ahmad, Secretary General of the PLO Executive Committee.

Mr. Azzam warmly congratulated on the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, and welcomed Mr. Sun to his new post, stated that the traditional friendship between Palestine and China was forged by generations of leaders of both countries and has remained strong regardless of changes in the international situation. In June 2023, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas announced the establishment of China-Palestine strategic partnership, elevating the bilateral relations to a new level. He expected the relations and cooperation across all fields will continue to reach new heights.

The two sides exchanged views on the Palestinian question.
