On January 17, 2026, H.E. Zeng Jixin, head of Office of the People’s Republic of China to the State of Palestine, paid a farewell visit to H.E. Mahmoud Abbas, President of the State of Palestine.

Zeng conveyed the cordial greetings and best wishes of President Xi Jinping, stating that under the personal care and guidance of the two heads of state, the China-Palestine strategic partnership has continued to deepen, and the two countries have firmly supported each other on issues concerning their core interests. President Xi Jinping attaches great importance to the Palestinian question and has repeatedly elaborated on China's position and propositions. China firmly supports the just cause of the Palestinian people and will continue to work to promote the implementation of the "two-state solution" to achieve a comprehensive, just, and lasting solution to the Palestinian question.

President Mahmoud Abbas emphasized that the Palestinian side adheres to the one-China principle and firmly supports China's great cause of reunification. He thanked China for its consistent and firm support for the just cause of the Palestinian people, highly praised the progress made in the China-Palestine strategic partnership, and expressed his willingness to further strengthen high-level exchanges between the two countries and promote greater development of China-Palestine relations.

Before the meeting, President Mahmoud Abbas awarded Zeng  the Friendship Star medal of the Order of President Mahmoud Abbas.
