On August 18, 2026, H.E. Sun Zhen, Head of Office of the People’s Republic of China to the State of Palestine, met separately with delegations led by H.E. Hussein Hamayel, Governor of the Jericho Governorate, and H.E. Mohammad Taha Abu Alia, Governor of the Bethlehem Governorate.

The delegations introduced two governorates and expressed high praise for China’s firm support for the just cause of Palestine. They look forward to strengthening cooperation with China across various fields to deepen China-Palestine relations.

Sun noted that both Jericho and Bethlehem enjoy long history and reputation and stressed that China is committed to deepening exchanges and cooperation between two countries so as to bring more benefits to Palestinian people.
