On August 19, 2026, H.E. Sun Zhen, Head of Office of the People's Republic of China to the State of Palestine, met with H.E. Ahmed Bayoud Al-Tamimi, member of the PLO Executive Committee and Head of the Department of Human Rights and Civil Society and his Deputy Qasem Awwad.

Tamimi welcomed Sun to his new post and highly commended China for consistently upholding a just stance for Palestine on international front. He hope that China would play a greater role in advancing a resolution to the Palestinian issue.

Sun reaffirmed that China will always firmly support the Palestinian people’s just cause of restoring their legitimate national rights and is willing to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the PLO in various fields including human rights affairs.
