On August 19, 2026, H.E. Mr. Sun Zhen, Head of Office of the People’s Republic of China to the State of Palestine, met with H.E. Bassam Al-Salhi, Secretary General of the Palestinian People’s Party (PPP).

H.E. Bassam Al-Salhi welcomed Sun to his new post, highly commended China for constantly standing by the Palestinian side, speaking for it on the international front. The PPP is willing to deepen the exchanges and cooperation with the Communist Party of China to contribute to the development of the relations between China and Palestine.

Sun noted that China will support the Palestinian people’s just cause of restoring their legitimate national rights as always. Both PPP and the Communist Party of China pursue the lofty ideal and ultimate goal of realizing communism, and adhere to the principle of serving the people. China is willing to strengthen exchanges between the two parties and enhance the development of the China-Palestine strategic partnership.
