On September 1, 2026, H.E. Mr. Sun Zhen, Head of Office of the People’s Republic of China to the State of Palestine, met with a delegation led by Major General Habes Al-Shrouf, Director of the Palestine Institute for National Security Research.

Sun introduced the four principles for resolving the Palestinian question outlined by Chinese President Xi Jinping, which have drawn widespread attention from the international community and countries in the region, hoping that Palestinian think tanks will intensify the research, promotion, and interpretation of China’s positions and proposals. China is willing to strengthen exchanges and cooperation between the two sides in various fields, including academia.

Al-Shrouf welcomed Sun’s assumption to his new post, expressed sincere gratitude to China for constantly upholding a just stance on the Palestinian question, and China’s efforts to realize peace and stability in the region. He is willing to strengthen academic exchanges between think tanks in both countries and organize more academic events so as to enhance friendship and mutual understanding between China and Palestine.
