On September 12, 2026, H.E. Mr. Sun Zhen, Head of Office of the People’s Republic of China to the State of Palestine, presented credentials to H.E. Mahmoud Abbas, President of the State of Palestine.

Sun conveyed President Xi Jinping’s cordial greetings and best wishes to President Mahmoud Abbas, stating that during his tenure, he would spare no effort to implement the important consensus reached by the two Heads of State and promote further development of the China-Palestine strategic partnership. Recently, President Xi Jinping put forward four principles for advancing the settlement of the Palestinian question and four proposals for building a new security architecture in the Middle East. China will adhere to these principles and make unremitting efforts to promote the settlement of the Palestinian question.

President Mahmoud Abbas asked Sun to convey his sincere greetings to President Xi Jinping and expressed his heartfelt gratitude to President Xi Jinping for reaffirming his firm support for the Palestinian people. He emphasized that China has stood firmly with the Palestinian side since the very beginning of the Palestinian national liberation movement. The Palestinian side attaches great importance to developing relations with China and looks forward to continued progress in the China-Palestine Strategic partnership.

Sun arrived in Palestine on July 7 to assume his new post and presented a copy of credentials to H.E. Dr. Varsen Aghabekian, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the State of Palestine on July 11.
