On September 23, 2026, H.E. Mr. Sun Zhen, Head of Office of the People’s Republic of China to the State of Palestine, was invited to attend a seminar hosted by the Palestine Institute for National Security Research. Habes Al-Shrouf, Director of the Institute; Omar Awadallah, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Palestine; Adnan Samara, Chairman of the Palestinian Higher Council for Innovation and Excellence and Chairman of Palestinian-Chinese Friendship Association; Ahmed Suboh, Chairman of the Yasser Arafat Foundation, among 60 experts, scholars, and media representatives attended the event.

During the discussion, Sun highlighted the background, key elements and significance of the Global Security Initiative (GSI), introduced President Xi Jinping’s four-point proposal on new security architecture for Middle East and his four-point principle for resolving the Palestinian question, also presented China’s position on the Palestinian question.

Participants of the seminar spoke highly of the GSI and the significance of President Xi’s important policy statements on the situation in the Middle East, hoping that China would play a greater role in the Palestinian question.
