On October 20, 2026, H.E. Mr. Sun Zhen, Head of Office of the People’s Republic of China to the State of Palestine, met with H.E. Mr. Imad Hamdan, Minister of Culture of the State of Palestine.

Sun said that China and Palestine both enjoy long history with diverse cultures. Cultural cooperation is an important area of China-Palestine relations. China stands ready to effectively implement the Global Civilization Initiative proposed by President Xi Jinping, further strengthen cultural exchanges and cooperation between the two countries and bring the two peoples closer.

Imad welcomed Sun on his assumption of office and highly commended China’s long support for the just cause of the Palestinian people and China’s efforts to speak up for Palestine in international arena. Palestine is grateful for China’s assistance in various forms. He also expressed readiness to further strengthen cooperation with China in cultural exchanges, cultural heritage protection and other areas.
