On October 27, 2026, H.E. Mr. Sun Zhen, Head of Office of the People’s Republic of China to the State of Palestine met with H.E. Dr. Varsen Aghabekian Shahin, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the State of Palestine.

Sun said that Chinese Foreign Minister, H.E. Wang Yi recently held a successful meeting with H.E. Dr. Varsen in Baku while attending the Seventh Summit of CICA. The two sides had an in-depth exchange of views on advancing China-Palestine relations. Wang reaffirmed the China’s policy on Palestine and stressed that the Palestinian question should not be marginalized. The world must not forget the two million Palestinian people in Gaza struggling on the brink of death. China will continue to speak up for the just cause of Palestine on multilateral platforms. Sun added that China stands ready to work with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Palestine to implement China’s assistance to Palestine and cooperation in all fields so as to strengthen bilateral relations.

Dr. Varsen stressed that the meeting with her counterpart Wang Yi in Baku had been fruitful. She expressed high appreciation for China’s firm support for the just cause of Palestine and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people. She reaffirmed that Palestine is committed to further enhancing political mutual trust between the two countries and deepening bilateral exchanges and cooperation across all fields.
