On November 3, 2026, H.E. Mr. Sun Zhen, Head of Office of the People’s Republic of China to the State of Palestine, met with Mr. Hanan Hanania, Mayor of Bethlehem and his delegation. Diplomats Yang Yiming and Yue Jianghua also attended the meeting.

The two sides reviewed the history of friendly exchanges between China and Palestine and exchanged views on enhancing local cooperation and people-to-people exchanges. Mayor Hanan briefed Sun on the overall situation in Bethlehem and the difficulties and challenges facing the city’s development.

Sun reaffirmed that China firmly supports the just cause of the Palestinian people and stands ready to continue providing support and assistance to the Palestinian people in various forms. He expressed the hope of having an opportunity to visit Bethlehem.
