On May 20, Guo Wei, Head of the Office of the People's Republic of China to the State of Palestine, introduced President Xi's important speech at the opening ceremony of the World Health Assembly to Amjad Ghanem, Cabinet Secretary-General of Palestine.
Guo Wei said that President Xi Jinping attended the opening ceremony of the 73rd World Health Assembly and delivered an important speech. From the perspective of jointly building a global community of health for all, he made six proposals and announced five initiatives, pointing out the direction for fighting against the pandemic through solidarity and cooperation. President Xi’s speech not only concerns how to continue to prevent and control the epidemic, but also to support the economic and social recovery of countries affected by the epidemic, especially developing countries, and to support WHO’s actions. It reaffirmed China's vision of building a community with a shared future for mankind. China stands ready to work with Palestine to fight the pandemic and overcome difficulties in the spirit of building a community with a shared future for mankind. In the near future, a batch of medical materials aided by the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs will arrive in Palestine, and the Chinese medical expert team also get prepared to go to Palestine to support the prevention and control of the epidemic.
Ghanem said that President Xi Jinping's speech embodies China's responsibility in promoting global anti-epidemic cooperation as a major country, shows it’s just image of maintaining international order, and has received a positive response and high evaluation from the international community. Palestine appreciates this and expects China to continue to play a leading role in international cooperation against the epidemic. Ghanem thanked China for its selfless assistance to Palestine in its fight against the epidemic.
